I'm looking for an external reader or encloser for Mac air and pro laptops that i can insert the drive and hook it to my iMac and read contents or format it. I have one reader but its for the shorter flash drive and the Mac 11" that I'm working on has a longer flash drive that wont fit in the reader. Laptop model is A1465

Other World Computing might have enclosures. You will need to identify your Mac more precisely than A1465. Find out the model name and hardware model year (e.g., MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012)). The Model ID (e.g., MacBookAir5,1) might be a good secondary identifier (though as with the A1465, Apple has sometimes reused those).
There might also be enclosures from other places, but since Apple often used internal SSDs that had somewhat unusual interfaces, OWC is probably the best bet as far as finding an enclosure that is compatible.

A1465 could be any of several MacBook Airs made between Mid 2012 and Early 2015.
When you say "flash drive", are you referring to a USB flash drive? Or to the internal SSD?
