Macbook Pro 2019 display malfunctions if partially open

The display on my MBP from 2019 just started glitching: Black or white patches, shifting columns of color, although the proper image or text is faintly visible underneath the spontaneous "fireworks." After trying a few things I discovered that it only happens if the lid is open LESS than 90 degrees, which is the opposite of the Flexgate issue. I still suspect that the problem is due to damage to a cable between the two halves, but I can't find any mention of this. Not only is it the opposite of Flexgate, my computer is not from the "correct" years. I'd love to know if anyone has some insight. I'm willing to try to repair the cable instead of having to replace the whole display.

Apple replace the entire assembly not just the cable. Either way considered a hardware issue.
