As was noted earlier, it says "may" be deleted. It is really up to Apple if they wish to bother.

the problem with that is that, to put a request for them to be deleted

you need to log in with the apple id and like i said i dont remember the

password.

So why not try to reset the password as I posted several posts ago? In order to delete the account for privacy reasons Apple will need proof that you are the owner of the account. The way you prove that is being able to log into it.

What are you seeing that is making you ask this question?

Here is what Apple says:

Legal - iCloud - Apple

VII. B "In addition, Apple may terminate your Account upon 30 days’ prior notice via email to the address associated with your Account if (a) your Account has been inactive for one (1) year; or (b) there is a general discontinuance of the Service or any part thereof."

Please note the word "may" is used, not "will".

If the accounts are, in fact, still active and you want them deleted, see here:

i can see that those accounts still exist because you can log in to them (meaning it does not say that id does not exist) and also because they are recognized in the iforgot page.

How do you know you can log into them if you don't have the passwords?

i cant log in to those accounts to delete them myself because i dont remember the passwords.

You can't delete accounts yourself ever. Only Apple can do that. So you can see if you can recover the passwords and then make a request to have them deleted. Or, just continue to ignore them.

the thing is that if the apple ids that remain inactive were deleted after a couple of years those ids would have been deleted by now, because its been over 10-15 years of inactivity.

No one here could tell you why Apple hasn't deleted them. You can certainly contact Apple Support and see if they have any additional insight. Use the Support link at the bottom left of every page of this forum.

I'm not sure what "recognizes the email" but, it's not really that important. If you want to delete the accounts, you'll need to recover your passwords.

true, you cant delete them yourself but you can request them to be deleted in the privacy page that apple created for you to delete the account (wich takes around 20-30 days), and also on that page you can request a copy of the data apple has on you.

i dont know if you have that on the US but here in europe we have it.

Yes, I gave you that link for requesting deletion above. So yes, I know about it.

to recover the password i have to answer the security questions i created when i created the apple id over 10-15 years ago and there is just no way i remember that.

If you find you can’t sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can request account recovery (read this support article: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support ) to regain access to your account.
