Profiles/MDM wants to make changes - Enter Your Password to Change This

I am getting a popup with the above message. I understand that I can open System Settings, click on Privacy and Security and then Profiles, and then delete the profile.

However, when I go to delete the profile, which is for Xifnity, it asks for my password. I'm concerned about entering my password here since if the popup is related to malware, I've given the malware my password to the computer.

Am I being overcautious here?

Please let me know as this popup is annoying me, but I don't want to make things worse.
