What is the Gray section on Screen time bar graph

My child’s screen time bar graph shows a color section and a gray section. What doors the gray section represents? Is it background usage? The particular apps/categories for the color section are broken down below the graph. But the gray has no explanation. What is it? Why does the total screentime not add up?

The Grey in Screen Time I was looking through my screen time when I realized the time was not adding up. Looking at the graph I noticed many gray sections. While trying to figure out what the gray was, I added all of the category times together. It came out to five hour, 24 minutes, and 42 seconds. However, my screen time is six hours and 20 minutes. There’s 56 minutes missing. I believe that’s the gray part of the graph. What exactly contributes to the gray? How do I get rid of it?

screen time bar chart Is there a way to see the precise time that certain apps were being used? As far as I can tell, the bar chart shows you 2 views - the week and the day - but w/in the day view, you only have a bar for each hour that measures the amount of time. I'd like more granular information. Is it possible to go in another layer and see more precise time-stamps for when apps are being used? In the same vein, is there any way to tell if a user is online right then? trying to fine-tune parental controls over here thx
