IpadOS 17.5.1 Update - External display stopped working

I recently update my M1 Ipad pro 11” to IpadOS 17.5.1 and it stopped connecting to my Dell external monitor with built in USB hub. Anyone else facing this issue?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

Mine won’t play streaming apps except for YouTube. I connect using an HDMI lightning adaptor and it will show on the tv screen but won’t play the video. But YouTube works fine so I know it’s nothing on my end.

If using an HDMI Adapter, be aware that relatively few third-party USB-C HDMI adapters/hubs support HDCP 2.0 - absence of which will inhibit the ability to output copy-protected HD media content from iPad to a connected monitor/TV over an HDMI connection.

The Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter does support HDCP 2.0:

Note also that some iPad models that feature USB-C also support DisplayPort Alternate Mode over USB-C. This protocol allows direct connection, with an appropriate Thunderbolt cable, to a monitor that supports DisplayPort - removing the need for HDMI.

iPad Pro M1 12.9 iPadOS 17.5.1 TB4 Passive or Active connected Directly to Studio Display TB port. Will NOT play VLC or Plex Video to the Studio Display, just the audio. Doesn’t matter if HD or SD or NOT Copy-protected media. Yes, Mouse and Keyboard connected (using to enter this). Stage Manager is On and Studio Display is Extended. I’ve tried the many work-arounds posted by others, nothing seems to work.

New discovery. If VLC opened on Studio Display and NOT Full Screen (window must be small enough to NOT require rescaling (?)) video plays to Studio Display in window. IF enter Full Screen video stops on current video frame and does not restart if window resized back down. Stage Manager always seems to open the Video window Full Screen when VLC started on iPad and Studio Display connected. Then only the FIRST frame of video is displayed. Usually Black screen.
