iPad Pro M4 11in - Screen randomly turns black

I have a 2-week old iPad pro M4 11in (manufactured April 2024 according to battery health) that has had no issues/damages/falls whatsoever since I bought it. I'm using it with a Magic Keyboard, and it's running the latest iOS 17.5.1.

The screen has started randomly turning completely black, usually after any of the following:

Few seconds after unlocking it
When launching/using certain apps - YouTube seems to be one where this commonly happens
Pretty much anytime I open up the Magic Keyboard case and unlock the iPad for the first time

However the iPad still works, can still be interacted with and sound is still playing, but the screen is completely black.

Usually, locking and re-unlocking it seems to do the trick, but it's not exactly a long term solution having to do that everytime I use it. And a couple of times it was completely unresponsive, so I had to Force restart it.

I've browsed a few community messages and other online sources but can't seem to find anything specifically related to this issue, besides force restart or dead screen due to iPad's age (not my case as it's under a month old).

Any tips on what to do or what could trigger this? Should I just bring it back to the store?

Begin with a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
Press and hold the top button.
When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:
