If I have followed all Apple instructions for cooling down my Apple watch but it still shows the red thermometer, is it repairable?

How long has the symbol been showing? Please remove from any chargers and do not wear the watch until this can be properly diagnosed.
It has been like this for more than a week. It was never hot but was on the charger when I found it like this. I took it off the charger and began researching the red thermometer and followed all instructions from the Apple discussions. I have not charged my watch since and it has finally died. I have tried to restart it but have had no success. Just a red thermometer is all I see.
What Apple Watch is it? Do you have Apple Care on it?
