How to recover missing photos from iCloud?

I recently went back to look for my baby photos and noticed a period of 4 months is missing from iCloud and all photos from these months are missing. There are many photos before and after this. When I use the “people” search I can see the photos tagged in the review section but they are missing from the library everywhere else. Help.
