Device limit reached.
I'm only showing 4 devices signed in. Why am I getting the device limit reached when trying to download music?

Only 5 computers can be authorized to play music from the same Apple ID. Any previous computer that was not deauthorized still counts to the device limit. This is different then how many devices you currently have signed into your account. A computer can be deauthorized if you have access to it, but if you no longer have the computer, then you have to deauthorize all computers and then authorize the current ones you do have access to.
