Sent as Text vs. Delivered

What is the difference between a text marked “Sent as Text Message” and “Delivered?”

One is confirmed to be delivered while the other one was sent as a text, whether it is delivered or not, cannot be confirmed as text messages are handed off to a carrier for delivery. It very well may have been delivered but iMessage has no way of knowing that.


"Sent as Text" happens when the other person is not using iMessage or does not have an internet connection or is using an Android device.
