15.8.2 update on iPad and iphone

I have iPad mini4 and iPhone SE 1st Gen (A1662) both were recently updated to 15.8.2 software.

I get a message on both saying “Siri Not Available. Your iPad is not connected to the internet.” (Same message on iPhone)

I am on my home wifi that works fine.

This happens on cell service, too.

I also get this message while in my car trying to see “messages” in CarPlay and on both devices when I press the home button and say “Hi Siri”.

Everything else on the iPad and iPhone works fine.

Nothing I have tried resolved this issue. Please help.

I believe this problem has been fixed.

Even though I have used VPN for a while without any problem apparently it was the problem.

A nice person in this support group told me to delete it and…it worked!
