Why does Apple Pay decline my purchases despite having sufficient funds?

When I add money to my Apple Pay it works good, when I try to buy something with Apple Pay I end up declined. I then can push the money back up to my debit card with no issue. So the money is really there but Apple Pay is declining. Ideas ? Anyone else having issues? This was on June 13th around 4-5 pm central time.

Thank you for helping

Did it happen at one specific merchant and location or multiple locations and merchants? Apple doesn’t approve or decline purchase with Apple Pay. Only the issuing bank of the payment method (credit or debit card) has the information to approve or decline transactions. If it was an actual decline, it was made by the bank and you will have to ask the bank the reason for the decline.

The more likely answer is the merchant had a network issue, the transaction terminal was having Tap-To-Pay issues or the sales clerk, pushed the wrong keys on the POS.
