Lockscreen homepod mini music widget showing something i listened at some point in time ago instead of whats currently playing

iPhone 14 pro max. iOS 17.5.1. HomePod mini 17.5 (21L569) both on same wi fi network

my lockscreen shows my homepod mini is playing song A that I listened to in another session.

right now my homepod mini is playing song H.

If i click the lockscreen widget showing song A, it opens the music app and shows the current playing song H.

besides touching the widget and taking me to the music app, nothing else is functional. The reccomended albuns when touched, do not respond or start playing and music control also do not respond to touch besides volume

What I expect from this thread?

  1. a possiboe fix gor this issue from people who were able to do it.
  2. (optional) why that happens and can be avoided with specific steps.

What is NOT expected/wanted/accepted in this thread?

1. generic/corporate how to use the homepod mini, the music app and related condescending out of this specific context BS that usually we see irritating “specialists” post responding to the threads. If i eanted a generic how to, posted on apple pages I would have alresdy checked them through the many already irritating posts you have responded already, not helping people!

Have a great day guys!

Thanx!!!

(some insight) I have a theory it’s based on where you start playing music from. If you start playing from the homepod, the last music played gets “stuck” in the lockscreen, then if you start playing from the iPhone, another day i.e., it doesn’t update and temporarily “bricks” the lockscreen widget.

maybe this is a bug report more than a request for help XD
