What's the point of this notification?

When I sync my iPhone13 to my iMac, I get this error, every time:

What's the point and what can I do to stop it?

I can't delete the file that can't be copied because it's not there!

Any ideas would be appreciated :-)

iMac Pro, macOS 14.5

The point is to let you know some items where not able to be synced. What other point would there be? It seems important to know if something trying to be synced failed.

You need to delete the entry in iTunes / Apple Music, or if you are syncing selected items, then remove the item from the list of items being synced in Finder / iTunes

Whatever that is is still listed in your iTunes Library and is trying to be synced, but the linked file no longer exists so it cannot be synced.

To sync selected items you need to have the "Manually Manage Music, Movies and Tv Shows" Option checked, and you can drag them to the device on the side bar in the Music App.

In any case, whatever that item is, is still listed as that file name in your library, so it should be simple to find in the Music app by that name, and then delete the entry for it from there by right clicking on it and choosing "Delete from Library"

Sir, you are amazing, because you've resolved an issue neither Apple nor Synology could.

The question I posted was an aside for another issue I had since changing then name of my NAS where, every time I connected my iPhone via USB, I kept getting an error reporting my old NAS couldn't be found, which baffled everyone, but when I synced my iPhone, I got this error.

On Apple Support advice, I reinstalled my Mac software once and, more problematically, my iPhone software twice, to no avail. The "NAS couldn't be found" error kept coming back.

Your explanation of this error, once I realised the problem was on the iPhone rather than the Music database, led me to delete the spurious music files (there were 3 of them) from the iPhone resolving this issue, but also resolving the "NAS couldn't be found" issue.

So, in essence, I am eternally grateful. Thank you.
