My water-damaged AirPods won't connect or charge?

I have recently dropped one AirPod in a pool, over the span of my vacation. It was left for atleast +20 minutes in the water before I was able to find them. They do appear as charged or connected to the case. They do not peep to connect at all. They are unable to play sound. It also shows that it does not charge. But I can see the percentage at which it is charged. I cannot reset it properly either.

what do I do?
