Lost contact with Sim card in my iPhone post update
loses contact with sim card after updating to ios 17.5.1. I have changed sim cards and also changed to e-sim. Could the error be in the update?

It's not likely an update issue. If it was, everyone would be having connectivity issues with cellular service and most are not. You can schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar to have the cellular radio in your iPhone tested. I would be more inclined to believe your carrier didn't set up the eSim correctly for your phone.
