Pages iPhone 13 ios 17.5.1

Pages does not open Pages documents. The screen flashes on and off and eventually says, “Something went wrong. Try again “ when displaying Pages documents. I have tried again but it doesn’t load a document. I have deleted and reloaded Pages and I have latest ios for iPhone 13. If I type in the file name and do not go via the Pages menu it may open for a time but if I don’t continually use it, it will crash. This has been a long standing problem. Oh if I then go from that opened document to try and access other documents it says, “INTERNAL ERROR could not acquire startup assertion Cancel”. Can anyone help me this is a BIG problem for me I use Pages a great deal.
