Reordering sections in Pages

I seem to have created a multi-page section when I only wnated it to be a single page.

I have a long document in WP mode and for convenicne want an image as the first page. As I could not seem to add a page as the head I added it as p 2 and tried to move the the thumbnail up, but could not.

So I inserted a section break and it now seems to be 15 pp.

Attached shows where I am now, I don't mind about a blank page as the title verso is often that way, but I want the cover before the t/p!

I hope someone can undo my mess and help me put things in order!

Thanks, Colin

Thanks. It had also occured ot me to mke a copy of the whole document and convert it to Page Layout, which is how I should have started when I migrated it from Claris/AppleWorks to Pages a decade back, and then select all from the original and paste it in, but clearly that did not work.

I've basically just used Pages on the one file so little idea of what it dones, until I find something it does not!

Anyway somehow I managed another section break to add a blank page above the t/p and was then able to move the cover up a page. I now have a blank first page which I can't sepatate from the section, but it does not matter as I can just ignore it, or delete from a pdfe if I need to distribute it.

Cheers, Colin

Unlike a Page layout format document, the word processing layout documents do not let you remove a thumbnail. That dialog you see is the absolute truth about what will happen if you were to proceed.

If your spymaster image is within a separate section, you can click and then drag it to the top of the thumbnail gallery, and then release it. All over thumbnails will shift downward to accommodate it in its new position at the top of your document.
