How to upload files on iCloud to free up space on my PC?

Hello, I have plenty of space on iCloud, but limited space on my PC.

I just want to upload files (various files including photos) from my PC to iCloud, than desynchronize them, then delete them from my PC while they are being kept intact on iCloud.

In other words, I don't want to see all files stocked on iCloud from my PC because my PC has lower GB memory than my iCloud account.

I checked on various websites for tutorials, but they keep saying I need to go into "iCloudDrive" on my PC, than right click on a file/folder that I want to be erased from my PC but not from iCloud, then it says to click on "detach or un-pin or something like that" and then a green check mark beside the file/folder will disappear and be replaced by a cloud sign...

*Sorry for the non-precise term "detach or un-pin"...I don't know the right term in English, I just know that it is called "épingler" in French.*

But on my Windows 10 PC, there are simply no "green check marks OR cloud marks" beside files/folders, and when right clicking on a file/folder there are no options like "detach or un-pin or something like that".

There must be a simple way to be able to store like 180GB of data of any sort on iCloud without the need to have 180GB of space on my PC.

Help please.
