do I need iPhone or iPad in addition to Mac to program in swift

I am having MacBook and want to learn swift programming. do I need a apple iPhone or iPad to run or test my apps?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.5

I would think that would depend on whether you were writing the apps for the Mac, the iPad, or the iPhone.


You can download Xcode and Swift Playgrounds on the Mac to learn Swift and to target any of those platforms. But developing and shipping iPhone and iPad apps is almost certain to require you to have some of those devices for testing.
