I would like to format an essay in APA format 7. would you be able to direct me on how to do this?

Most anything associated with APA is MS Word-oriented. Pages has no APA templates and darn few examples unsurprisingly.

Generally your word processing software will have a help system.
You can also use online search engines to find other methods for most major software packages: e.g. “How to set margins in Apple Pages”
