Apple Watch whole face detached and now isn’t working.

I caught my Apple Watch on a sharp surface, managed to click it back on but now it’s totally unresponsive. Any ideas? Apple tells me I have to pay £168 for a repair which I’m loath to do as I’ve only had it 18 months

When the screen came undone it probably ripped or damaged the screen and/or touch controller’s ribbon cables underneath. I imagine they’re quite short in a device that of that size. The repair sounds relatively reasonable because they are probably going to have to replace the whole screen and touch accessibly. If it’s too close to a price of a new one or even an Apple CPO one, I’d just go for a new one.
