I'm using Sonoma 14.5, and seem to have lost capacity to hide the left sidebar in Photos, even with full screen option. I've looked at older posts but the option doesn't seem to be available now?

I may have resolved it with full-screen option. In view the Always view sidebar in full screen was ticked. However, it would be good to display full widow of photos without the sidebar. Is it possible?

No, I don't think so. I use Full Screen most of the time with Photos, and I'm not sure of the disadvantage -- other than having to wait a fraction of a second for the Menu to slide down when I need it. I get out of full screen only when I need to interact with another app by dragging pictures around, then right back, so it's not a problem for me.
