Logic crashing when recording with Modulation Wheel

I'm running Logic Pro 11 on an M3 MBP using Sonoma 14.1.2.

When I'm either recording- or using capture last take as recording- a software instrument part and simultaneously using the Mod Wheel, 9/10 times Logic crashes. (This also happened using the last/latest Logic Pro 10)

Mostly I'm using Kontakt 7 instruments for my work, but have noticed this with other third party plug-ins.

Is this a known compatibility issue with either Logic, M3 chips, Native Instruments or OS?

When I sought help from Logic Support I was told it's not a Logic issue, as it was happening with third party plug-ins, but I had thought that NI was pretty good at keeping pace with updating their stuff.

Any similar experiences/suggestions?

Many thanks!

No worries- I just thought I had given as much info as might be necessary.

There were actually two updates available for Logic and Kontakt (as well as the OS one) that I wasn't aware of, so thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Having installed them, it seems to have resolved the issue of crashing with some Kontakt instruments, but I'm still having an issue with Arkhis, which is made by Orchestral Tools. I'm not quite sure how this works in terms of whether they or NI are responsible for keeping them up to date, but wondering if that's where the problem might lie.

I see from the Kontakt 7.10.5 update that intermittent crashes with Logic 10 were a known problem, so it looks like things have improved but there is still some de-bugging to be done!

Lastly, when I upgraded from Intel to the M3 MBP I did so from scratch.

Sorry, I didn't want to be rude, since the new design of the community, the answers are sometimes out of order...

Could you confirm:

• Are you using Logic 11.0.1 ?

• Are you using Kontakt 7.10.5 ?

Just saying " the latest version" is not that helpful, because the results not comparable and some users are not aware of updates.

• Why are you using the outdated MacOS version Sonoma 14.1.2 instead of Sonoma 14.5?

• How did you upgrade from Intel Mac to M3? Did you use the built-in "Migration Assistant" (not recommended, when using Logic) or did you install of everything from scratch (recommended) ?

• Did you inspect the crash reports? If they aren't displayed automatically, go to Utilities > Console > Crash Reports.

Update to the above:

Logic still crashing after all the possible upgrades to Logic/OS/Kontakt etc. when using "Capture last take as Recording" or even just recording. It happens more often when using MIDI controllers but can also happen when just playing a part in via a piano keyboard.

Very frustrating as this is obviously a key part of the workflow!
