Prevent screens from disappearing from desktop on every click
I find it frustrating that ever time I click the desktop all of my screens disappear until I click the desktop again. How do I prevent this from happening?

Readjust, change or disable your Mission Control settings.
see > See open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac - Apple Support
If you are running Monterey or earlier, go to Apple > System Preferences > Mission Control and uncheck all of the boxes.
If you are running Ventura or later, go to Apple > System Settings > Dock & Desktop > turn Off Stage Manager and the Mission Control switches.
Thank you for your response, however, I don't see any area that allows me to shut that operation off. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. When I have documents or windows open on my desktop and I click the open area of the desktop, all windows and documents move off of the desktop until I click the desktop again. I would like anything I have open on the desktop to remain on the desktop regardless if I click on it. I hope I'm communicating this properly.
Perfect! Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your time and effort.
John
