Search not working on desktop calendar app - red box around search field

Out of the blue, my calendar desktop app's search feature has stopped working. When I search for something it will only return results for that day instead of the whole calendar history (like it used to do).

Also, the calendar search box is outlined in red which I also believe is new.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
