Unable to respond to 1 group text

I am able to send and receive text messages as normal on my phone, watch, and laptop with 1 exception. There is a single group text that I have no area to reply in on my phone and on my laptop. I receive all the texts and get notifications, but there is no reply field so I am unable to respond. All the members of the group have iPhones.

The exception is on my watch. There is a reply field there, but it's cumbersome and annoying to have to reply on my watch (even using the mic).

I have tried restarting all my machines. I have tried resetting my watch. I have logged in and out of iCloud. I have tried starting a fresh text thread with with the same members, which makes it look like a new thread (zero previous messages) and works for a bit but then the same thing happens again. Some of the fixes I have tried have worked temporarily, but then it always goes back to the text field disappearing.

I do not have this issue with other group texts. Help!
