i have an ipad 6th generation which has activation lock. I found apple ID but not password. what should i do? i need this ipad for my college work.

Activation Lock is intended as a theft deterrent, and is intentionally difficult to bypass.
Options? Recover access to the Apple ID, or present sufficiently-convincing proof of ownership to Apple.
