I want to transcribe mp3 recorded conversations to text that I can edit. Short of buying an application or rent a website, can I do that with Pages or any other Mac application?

Apple added the Transcription Shortcut in Sonoma as I don't find it on Ventura 13.6.7. As there is no Transcription action in Automator on Ventura, the leaves you without a Ventura native Apple solution for producing a text transcription from an MP3 audio file.
One of the challenges of writing Shortcuts on Sonoma (my principal desktop) is that I have found instances where they either don't work the same way in Monterey where Shortcuts were introduced, or there are missing actions as we have found in Ventura.
Taking the time to test a Shortcut on three different operating systems before posting it in the community may be necessary for compatibility or exception confirmation.
Apple's Shortcuts offers a transcription solution from a .mp3 to text and writes it to a user-designated text file on the Desktop. You can install this MP3 Transcription Shortcut with a click. It looks like this:
Thank you Viking OSX. I tried your Shortcuts suggestion and got almost but not quite what you did.
The secondary menu's Quick Action menu gave "Customize…" as the only option.
In Shortcuts I activated MP3 Transcription so it sits in "All Shortcuts", but does not seem to operate.
Perhaps my OS 13.6 Ventura version of Shortcuts does not have the sound action that is needed to complete the sequence? (iMac 2019)
I will appreciate suggestions for making this Shortcut work, and thank you again.
Thank you Viking OSX for the timely help. It is good to know what one can't do. One more reason to do the Ventura update.
