I've had a new Mac Studio for six months now, but I notice that the card reader is really painfully slow. Even when I connect an external card reader, it is very slow. I have already tried several cards (video production, so all extremely fast for 6k) but it just takes hours before it has copied, for example, 50 GB to my SSD drive. It can't be that such an expensive machine like the Mac Studio just doesn't work well on it, can it?

Have you run Disk Utility's Disk First Aid on all connected drives?
In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.
Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.
Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...
