Apple Pages now doing 2 things I don't want: auto-filling text, and opening previous document when I just want to start a new document.

MacBook Air Retina 13" 2018, Sonoma 14.5, Pages v14.1. Both things started at approximately the same time, for no apparent reason, and I can't figure out how to get them to stop. Please advise.

Pages v14.1 introduced predictive text to complete a word and there is nothing you can do about that as the Pages product team did not provide a means in Settings to optionally disable that annoyance. I have sent them a feature request to provide an optional OFF selector in Auto-Correction.

Pages will not open a previous document if you properly close the document and quit Pages. I am using Pages v14.1 on Sonoma 14.5 and I always close a document before quitting Pages. Consequently, no previous document opens when I launch Pages again.

Thanks for your reply Viking, and for asking the Pages team to provide a means to disable predictive text. I hope they honor your request. I use a lot of abbreviations when making notes before filling out and submitting medical review documents, and Pages often gets it wrong. For example, oxy becomes oxygen when I really meant oxycodone. Very annoying.

Re the other problem, I guess I often just save a document then quit Pages without formally closing the document, so I'll give closing the document first a try. Strange that this never happened before though.

Thanks again!
