iPhone finds wifi and connects but the drops connection instantly

Hi,

I have an iPhone 13 mini which is having real issues with wifi. It will find our home wifi (located under the stairs around 2m from where I am sitting) and connect but only for 1-2 seconds before dropping or stating “cannot connect to this wifi”.

My wife’s phone and iPad don’t have any issues like this.

I have also tried:

  • restarting wifi and phone
  • resetting network connections
  • contacting wifi provider who have confirmed connection is good
  • forgetting the network and finding it again
  • connecting to other wifi (same issues)

The phone has also been funny with 4/5G, showing as having 2 bars of signal but no internet. HELP!!!

iPhone 5, iOS 9

Troubleshooting iPhone WiFi:

A few thoughts to try:

I. Start Here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch won't Connect to a Wi-Fi Network - Apple Support

II. Clear the Temporary Internet Files:

III. Restart your Router:

  1. Power: off the router
  2. Wait: 30 seconds
  3. Power: It back on

IV. Connect Using Siri:

Using Siri, say, “Connect to WiFi network.”
