AppleSpell is maxing out CPU - started around upgrade to 14.5

The AppleSpell process is running with high CPU utilization (plus overheating) on my MacBook Air 2019.

The issue just started so I'm wondering if it is somehow related to the 14.5 upgrade?

It seems to be worse when I am using Pages and start on a duplicated document.

I've shut apps down, which seems to temporarily help.

I have rebooted.

I removed all Text Replacements (a suggestion from years ago related to this issue).

A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
