OS Monterey 12.7.4 - can't edit music on iPhone when plugged into MacBook Air/Music app

I recently had to upgrade my (

2015 MacBook Air to OSMonterey 12.7.4. I hadn’t updated it in quite awhile because of a DAW software that reportedly wasn’t compatible with Catalina. Anyway, when I plug my iPhone into my laptop and view it in the Music (formerly iTunes) window, it looks REALLY weird now. I can’t edit ANY of the info on any songs—individual or multiples—nor can I customize which fields I want to sort by in the label bar at the top. Plus, it automatically sorts my iPhone music in very odd ways (by default) now. Also, there’s no drop-down menu under the iPhone tab in the left-side Column Browser anymore, so I can’t see (or edit, obviously) the playlists on my iPhone like I could before.

The main library view seems to be fine, and looks virtually the same as it did before the update, but the iPhone view is BIZARRE. Help!
