It would be so useful and cute to be able to see my iPhone's battery here. Am I doing something wrong? Or maybe we should suggest this as a new feature?

As a temporary work around for this.
There is a Third Party application ( Free or PAID for Full Features ) called >> coconutBattery 3 << which is specifically designed to measure the Battery Health of Laptop computer and Yes, iPhone battery
The application is run on macOS and can be configured to wirelessly poll the battery levels of your iPhone

Though, this late in the development of macOS 14 Sonoma
Apple generally does not Add New Features to the exiting version of macOS.
This is once the newer macOS 15 Sequoia is being prepared and developed
