I recently received an email from Apple informing me that my product shipment is on its way. I noticed that the last two numbers of my telephone number belonged to my old, disabled number. I have changed this everywhere on my iPhon. Where is it getting this nber and how can I change it?
Each card has its own unique phone number associated with it. Please follow this path,
iPhone > Settings > Apple ID (Your Name at top of screen) > Payment & Shipping > tap card to edit > tap Billing address > tap edit (upper right corner of screen) edit necessary changes
Again, you need to correct it for each card. So, check the credit card used for your recent order.

Thanks for replying to my post. I specify my telephone number in my iCloud settings under Payment and Shipping. I looked at the individual card information and located the telephone number. It is correct for my debit card and my AppleCard. I corrected it for my PayPal card, which I did not use to pay for my purchases (of course). I'm mystified. Perhaps my purchase picked up my phone number from there, although that seems unlikely.
The faulty telephone number showed up in the email purchase confirmation. It makes me think that perhaps it is invalid somewhere in the online system. If so, I don't know how to change it. But I'm grasping at straws now.
I'm using an iPhone SE running the latest iOS. I used the Apple website. I started from the product announcements for the new Apple Watch and the new MacBook Air. I did not use the Apple Store app. I bought a new watch and MacBook and a bunch of accessories. It seems unlikely that the site retrieved my telephone number from my catds on my phone which are correct, anyway.
OK, let’s backup a little. What device are you using, iPhone, iPad or Mac? What device did you order the item that had the wrong phone number?
