New MacBook lid not closing

I recently bought a MacBook Air M3. After a month or two of use

the lid won’t close flush, and opens up, which allows dust and debris to get in, I got a case for it and I thought that was the reason, but a previous windows laptop of mine also had this issue. I don’t know if it is my fault when closing the device or it is an issue with my case.
