How can I check if my AirPods Max are original?

It’s virtually impossible to tell as the counterfeiters have gotten quite sophisticated replicating the cosmetics.

Typically counterfeits WILL play sound, but some of the more “advanced” features simply don’t perform well — if at all.

(e.g. FindMy Locating, Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, Dynamic Head Tracking, … etc.)

If you’re happy w/ their performance … consider yourself fortunate.

Purchasing them from Apple or an authorized reseller IS how to ensure that they are genuine.

Serial numbers of known, legitimate Airpods can be counterfeited to give the illusion of authenticity.

Think about it … who REALLY sells their “used” Airpods for a deep discount ?

They may be genuine, but in all likelihood they aren’t.
