No it's not useless
You're right. The phone does have some use. You can use it as a paperweight.

so that you know what to look for to avoid getting an Activation-Locked brick.
I cannot contact the owner of it since it's my teachers old phone and if he sees that it's an activation lock and there's no way to unlock it he will kill me since this has his information
If we go by what you have told us, and assume that
- the teacher sold or gave this phone to you voluntarily
- the phone is Activation Locked
why on Earth would you think that he would "kill you"?
While that phone is Activation Locked, it is not going to offer you access to any of his data. It may well be telling the teacher its location, though. Assuming that you got the phone in an honest way, that shouldn't be a problem. He's not going to come looking for someone to whom he voluntarily sold or gave away his phone. Right?
so you guys have to tell me some ways to remove it
You say that you cannot contact your former teacher. That rules out the only way of removing it. Since you can't get his help, the phone will forever remain a "brick."
