Does anyone know how I can remap the keys on my MacBook?

It's funny that a few years ago when we had an operating system with more options, I had the amazing idea of modifying the "shift" key on the right side since I assumed I would never use it.

It turns out that I caught up with my typing and this key prohibits me from continuing since I modified it a long time ago and now every time I press the "shift" key on the right side it only shows me the desktop

And the programmers in charge of Mac thought it was cool to reduce the Mac operating system to IOS and now the options it had a few years ago do not exist!

This is a small thing.... but it is very annoying.

Because I have been dragging this on for many years, since they changed the configuration panel basically.

If someone can help me, it will surely make me regain faith in Apple and in God!

I think the options just moved. See the last item on this list

Just a thought, how about making a copy of your keyboard-related plist files (just in case things go awry), followed by trashing the existing one and a reboot.

The OS should then repopulate with default keyboard plists.

Users/<name>/Library/Preferences

ok I'll update you! I discovered that you were very right but there is something curious that has to be taken into account......

hahahahaha and it's embarrassing for me XD apparently I don't know my own native language XD

shift has an absurd translation in Spanish.....hahahaha "right capital letter/ Mayuscula derecha".

I was never going to guess this in my life since "shift" has been shift since I touched a computer in 2002

How can Apple think of translating such a special key, I feel outraged! hahahahahahahaha

I was already slowly drafting a demand without capitalization of the letters on the right side of the keyboard.

This doesn't solve anything, it just makes it more mysterious... I think the solution is to go back to mac os big sur

Maybe I can do something and from there update the Mac to see if I don't carry this problem for life????? Can this be recommended?

I looked for all those options and I opened my eyes wide and I couldn't solve it. I insist before when we had more options in the system you could change the behavior of any key but Apple decided to reduce Mac to simply a document viewer

No, I already know this!

I can't find the solution, it doesn't show anywhere that a function is assigned to the shift key... it just seems like it was hidden in the background of the programming.
