Request to manage contacts notification received on child's iphone - suspicious

The following notification "A parent has requested to manage your contacts" appeared on my child's iphone at 10:20pm last night. THIS WAS NOT ME (the parent) activating or requesting this? So who could it be requesting this? I'm not very tech savvy, but it makes me wonder if someone is trying to hack into my 12 year old's phone, or if it's my abusive, controlling ex trying to? Or if it's just a glitch? It's very worrying nevertheless.

iPhone 6s, iOS 15
