(HomePod Mini) (iPad Air) AIRPLAY DELAYS SPOTIFY AUDIO BY 2 SECONDS

I bought my HomePod Mini in Dec2022 and immediately switched to Apple Music with the purchase’s included offer of six months free. I switched back to (my family’s) Spotify plan in June.

I was gifted my iPad Air 10.9-Inch in September 2023 (my iPhone Xs broke a month ago [I had this problem with both devices]).

AirPlay has always delayed Spotify audio (by 2 seconds). I have lived in 3 different places, each with a different WiFi setup, and AirPlay has just always delayed Spotify audio.

YouTube or Netflix doesn’t do this. Is Spotify fixable?

Make sure iPad and HomePod software are up to date.

On the iPad Air try closing the Spotify App and restarting the iPad. You can ask Siri on the iPad to restart if this is easier.

You can also restart the HomePod with the Home app. Or unplug it for 10 seconds to restart. It should display a white spinning light as it restarts. You can also reboot your wifi to improve playback.
