Step 1: Go to developer.apple.com and click Account. Then create a free developer account using your Apple ID (if you have ever registered, skip this step). Next, agree to any terms.

Step 2: Check for software updates on your iPhone.

Go to Settings app > Click General > Tap on Software Update > Click Beta Updates > Select the iOS 18 Beta. Click Back and then the version will appear.

Step 3: Download and install the beta.

Click Update Now and enter your passcode. After downloading, choose Install Now and type the device passcode again.

Before getting it successfully, you should ensure you have done the three things. First, you should make a backup of your iPhone by turning on iCloud backup. Second, confirm your device is the iPhone XS and later, which is compatible with the beta. Third, update to the latest version or check whether you’re running iOS 16.4 or later.

Apple has NOT released the iOS 18 Beta update to the general public yet. It is currently ONLY available for registered Apple Developers and AppleSeed members.

Keep in mind that Beta releases are not ready for the general public. If you take a chance and download the Beta software to your iPhone when it can be downloaded for public testing, if you have ANY issues with it, you CANNOT come here and ask ANY questions about issues you may have. And you will have issues as that's the point of testing software. One big issue you'll likely find is some apps may not play well with the beta software and there's nothing Apple can do about that as that would be up to the app developers to update their apps to work on iOS 18.

The answer has been given.

If you are a registered Apple developer or member of the AppleSeed program, you can be a "guinea pig" now. Eventually there may be a public beta that allows almost anyone to be a "guinea pig."

If you "really want" iOS 18, but don't understand the preceding replies in the thread about the rollout of beta software, you are probably hoping for a finished product that does not require you to be a "guinea pig."

In which case, wait for the public production (NON-beta) release.

iOS 18 will be released to the public in 3-4 months.

When iOS 18 is available, it will appear as an update on your phone.

You have to be invited by Apple to receive the beta software. You would have received an invitation about a month ago if you were selected.

They aren't asking about the official public release of iOS 18, which will roll out in the fall. They're asking about the beta, which hasn't been released publicly. But if history repeats, will likely roll out sometime in July for public beta testing.
