Flash disk (USB) not being recognised by my Macbook Pro

I inserted a flash disk in my MacBook Pro and transferred a file into it. After awhile, I received the message that "the flash disk was not ejected properly" and it's image disappeared from the desktop. When I tried it in another Mac, it is recognisable. It is also recognisable in Windows PC. What could be the problem and how do I sort it out?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.5
