iPhone not receiving android messages

I purchased this iPhone a few days ago from Straight talk and have been having problems getting my contacts that have android phones, I am not receiving their messages but they can receive mine. I have the 17.5.1 update is this still a problem for anyone. I did contact apple and my carrier and still not resolved.

I did every resolution Reset network setting, took out my SIM card, factory restarted my phone, turned off I message and logged in and logged out of my Apple ID. If anyone has advice I would appreciate it

iPhone 12, iOS 17

Messaging between iPhones and Android phones use SMS for text and MMS for messages with attachments or images. SMS/MMS is entirely a carrier service; if you have problems with it the first point of contact, after basic troubleshooting, should be your carrier.

What to check:

  • Settings/Messages/MMS: it should be ON
  • If there is no MMS switch, your account is not configured correctly; contact ST
  • MMS requires Cellular Data, it cannot use Wi-Fi, so make sure Settings/Cellular is turned on, and also turned on for Messages in the list of apps
  • Do you use VPN? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile.
