Can't find iTunes app to transfer music to iPod shuffle

I've seen messages stating that iTunes is no longer available on Mac OS Catalina or later versions, which is the case for me. I currently use Sonoma OS. But how do I transfer songs to my iPod shuffle without iTunes? Also I can see the device in the music app but it doesn't appear in Finder.

To view your iPod in Finder and be able to synchronize your music (just like you used to in iTunes):

  • Connect your iPod to your Mac.
  • In the Finder on your Mac, choose Finder > Settings.
  • Click Sidebar.
  • Below Locations, select the CDs, DVDs, and iOS Devices checkbox.
  • Check the sidebar in Finder again, below Locations, to see if your device is showing.

  • Click the device to see the syncing options.
