“iPhone can no longer be paired with Bluetooth device” please forget device

I have an iPhone X that has been paired to my cars Bluetooth (2016 crosstrek) since the day I bought it 2 years ago. Two days ago it stopped connecting to the cars bluetooth. I went through all the standard steps to get it to connect again, and finally received a message on my phone that stated “iPhone can no longer be paired with SubaruBT, please forget device”. It won’t pair again after forgetting the device and trying all the normal steps, help?!?!?

Forget the car from your phone, and also delete the phone from the car’s Bluetooth. And also delete any other devices connected to the car’s Bluetooth. Most likely you exceeded the capacity of the car’s Bluetooth connection table.
