I was recently married and my daughter and I would like to move onto my wife’s Apple family. If we do so will we lose all our iCloud Photos and other data? We currently have 200gb snd my wife has 2TB shared with her family. We’d like to consolidate our families into one. I just want to know if it will follow our Apple ids or do we have to backup all our iCloud Photos first so we don’t lose them.

Sharing Photos:
When sharing these, they move out of your Personal Library, and then go into your Shared Library. They will stayed installed on your own account. Nothing would be lost.

Just to be clear we don’t have shared photos, we just each have our own shared iCloud storage. So if my daughter has 200gb of photos in her iCloud in our family, then she movies to my wife’s Apple family she will not lose her photos. Is that correct? Assuming there is enough space..

Absolutely nothing happens. Data belongs to the iCloud account and moves with you. Provided you have enough space, everyone's data will be in tact.
