iPod Nano Reset and iTunes Troubles

I want to reset my mother's iPod to my account but she forgot the username and password for the iPod.

I downloaded iTunes but it does not show the iPod. I tried my iPhone but it does not show up with that as well.

I have tried multiple cords and different ports.

I also can only access podcasts and audiobooks.

I am l very confused.

Also, is there a way where I can download Apple Music to the iPod instead of using iTunes for music?
